Vocation Prayer Cross
The vocation cross is one way we can especially pray for vocations to religious life. We believe that when families pray, God listens. More than that, God may plant a vocation seed in the family doing the prayers. Hosting the vocation cross can also encourage questions and conversations concerning vocations. We encourage you to pray the Vocation Prayer with your family each day of the week, when it is most convenient. You might also use this as an opportunity to talk together about priests, sisters and brothers you have known and admire.
The process of hosting the prayer cross is very simple. Each week, a different individual or family, one who has signed up for this ministry, takes the vocation prayer cross into their home and commits to saying the provided prayers. Placing the cross in a prominent place in the home is a great reminder of this special time of prayer.
When the week is over, the host family returns the cross to the parish so the next family can pick it up at mass. Each weeks individual or family is announced in the bulletin as well as during weekend mass. It is a wonderful blessing as a parish to have a specific family praying for vocations every week of the year! For more information or to sign up, please call the parish office at 622-3255.
